Our Leadership Team

Helen provides overall quality leadership for Alabama Allergy & Asthma Center.

Helen’s key focuses are practice management, utilization of technology within the practice, and continued development of the excellent staff of Alabama Allergy. Whenever the opportunity arises, she enjoys speaking with patients of the practice and their families. Helen is responsible for leading all teams in the development of new programs and strategic planning, ensuring the practice is relevant and current to the specialty of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. Helen has been recognized for her leadership roles in the practice as well as within the Homewood Chamber of Commerce, the Partnership for Clean Air, the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and is the Past-President of the Birmingham Medical Group Management Association. Helen holds a BS in Nutrition from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Helen has worked at Alabama Allergy & Asthma Center since 2000, and also serves as the Administrator and Partner of the Clinical Research Center of Alabama. The Clinical Research Center of Alabama is the sister company of Alabama Allergy & Asthma Center and provides research, and development for allergy, asthma, skin conditions and related indications. She is originally from New York and very much enjoys Birmingham, Alabama. Outside of work, Helen spends time with her family and friends. She enjoys the outdoors, including skiing, the beach, and travel. She is also a culinary and wine enthusiast.

Sherri Aaron began working with Alabama Allergy in 2011. Her background in healthcare began as an office manager in 1995. During her management years she became very involved with product development and the implementation of electronic medical record systems. She currently has over 10 years of experience in implementation, coordination, and workflow setup of EHR and other healthcare systems. Sherri is a current member of HIMSS, Birmingham MGMA, and Alabama MGMA. When she is not in front of a computer Sherri enjoys gardening, walking, reading, and spending time with family. She is married to Shannon Aaron and has one daughter.

Kim McClendon leads our billing department as our Billing Manager and is a Certified Professional Coder with AAPC. She has years over 25 years of billing and coding experience and has worked specifically in the allergy specialty since 2002. Kim is married with two children and enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Ryan graduated from Athens State University with his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and minor in Healthcare Administration in 2012. Ryan graduated from Belhaven University with his Masters of Healthcare Administration in 2018. He is a member of the Medical Group Management Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives. In his spare time he enjoys playing softball, singing, and spending time with his family and friends.

Amy joined our practice in 2012 and is a registered nurse who earned her degree from Meridian College in Meridian, MS. Amy has extensive patient care experience in allergy, asthma, and primary care nursing. Amy believes in working in a team environment with her patients and co-workers.  Her experience and expertise with patient care have provided the ground work and training for her to head our Biologics Department. Amy leads our biologics approval process, ordering, and patient education.  Amy also works with our research department, the Clinical Research Center of Alabama. Away from work she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.

Kate serves as the Practice Development Coordinator and is the liaison between our practice and the community. Kate is also responsible for handling outreach for the practice including health fairs, events, and marketing. Kate graduated from The University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor’s in Healthcare Management. She previously was part of Alabama Allergy and Asthma Center as an intern and then Practice Development Coordinator. When she is not at work, Kate enjoys being with her family.
Kelli has been with the company since 2010. She graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of West Alabama and later went to Jefferson State Community College where she received her Associates in Applied Science for Registered Nursing. She worked at St. Vincent’s Birmingham in Medical-Surgical Nursing before coming to CRCA. Kelli sees research as a way to combine the use of both of her degrees while still being involved in patient care. She loves research because it is a way to test her organizational skills, patient care, and business acumen simultaneously. Kelli is married to her wonderful husband, Kyle, and they have three beautiful daughters, Ivy, Kendall, and Lily. She enjoys spending time outdoors and cooking in her free time.
Diane joined CRCA in 2011. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Tennessee, and worked on her first clinical trial in the 1980’s. Over the years, she gradually transitioned from clinical practice to research, having worked in research exclusively since 1994. She’s fascinated by all of the new scientific advances witnessed firsthand as a result of clinical research, and the benefits received by patients. Diane feels strongly that the access to clinical trials is a vital part of a practice’s mission to deliver the best and most up-to-date care. She is the mother of two, a daughter and a son. In her free time, she enjoys college sports (especially UT!), cooking and volunteer work.

Denise Moss, SHRM-CP joined the Alabama Allergy & Asthma team in February 2021 as our Human Resources Director. Denise is a dynamic HR professional with over 10 years of progressive experience. Her areas of expertise are implementation, HR strategy, payroll/benefits administration, and recruitment. Denise has proven success in creating cultures of collaboration and implementing change to achieve workforce excellence. Prior to joining our team, Denise served for five years as Director of Human Resources in the Retail/Hospitality industry. In this role, she successfully built HR processes for multi-state operations while staying current on Employment and Labor Laws. Outside the office, Denise serves as a member of the local BSHRM chapter, and is an active member of SHRM and the American Payroll Association. In her spare time, Denise enjoys running, blogging, volunteering, and family time with her husband and three sons.
