The Process

Qualifying Visit

Time Commitment: approximately 2 hour
Consultation with our board certified allergist, Dr. Carolyn to discuss your entire OIT process.

Day 1 Treatment

Time Commitment: Full day visit (six to eight hours)
Patient will have their first day of ingesting the protein dilution under the supervision of our allergist and designated care team every 30 minutes until 8 doses have been taken. Daily home dosing will begin at the end of this appointment.

Weekly Up-Dosing

Time Commitment: 1 hour weekly for 23-29 weeks
Each week patients will be monitored in our office for an increased dose of protein dilution. The new higher dose of specified protein will be taken home each week for home dosing.

Patients will be given the quantity of their specified food to add to their diet indefinitely at home to maintain their desensitized state.

Schedule an OIT Consultation

We look forward to the opportunity to discuss our Center’s protocols and procedures with you. A consultation with Dr. Comer is available for patients to sit down and discuss if OIT is right for them or their child, and have an open discussion about possible outcomes or concerns about OIT.
