With Oral Immunotherapy

What is Oral Immunotherapy?

Oral Immunotherapy (OIT) is a medical treatment, guided by a Board Certified Allergist, which re-trains the immune system to become desensitized to food allergens through regular ingestion of food proteins at increasing doses.

OIT Is the Answer to Struggles Faced
By Many Food Allergy Families

Is there anything I can do to reduce the risk of a reaction?

What can I do to give my child a more normal life?

Is there a way to protect my child and make their life - and the whole family’s lives easier?

Are there ways to make my child feel included when his/her allergies prevent them from participating in regular activities?

Experience Freedom With OIT

No More Constant Fear and Anxiety

Anxiety driven by food allergies can become a thing of the past for graduates of our OIT treatment program.

No More Label Reading

Enjoy birthday parties, slumber parties, summer camps, and other fun activities because label reading will be a thing of the past.

No More Balancing Act Between Safety and Nutrition

Put an end to the hours spent searching for nutritious substitutes to your child’s allergen. OIT graduates are able to reintegrate the allergen into their diets.

Freedom To Live Your Life

You can finally relax. The constant vigilance needed to protect children from the constant threat of allergens is no longer necessary upon graduation from our OIT program.

Our OIT Graduates Enjoy...

Safety and Relaxation

OIT has been shown to provide continued tolerance of allergens, even after daily consumption has lapsed. This means that you can end the strict, allergen-proof, regimen around your home.

Fullness of Life

Trick or treating. Field trips. Bus rides. Sports outings. Restaurants. All of the activities our graduates couldn’t enjoy before were waiting for them on the other side of our OIT treatment program.

Replace day to day fear and anxiety with control, peace of mind, and freedom to live your life.

How the OIT Process Works

1st Treatment

To begin, schedule a consultation with our clinic, and meet with a board certified allergist to determine whether our OIT program is the right fit for your family. Be sure to allow 1-2 hours for the initial qualifying process.

1st Treatment

You then start your journey to life free of the fear and anxiety with day 1 of treatment. Our enrollees take their first dose of the allergen solution under the close supervision of our allergist. Daily home dosing will begin after this visit.

Monitor Progress

Monitor Progress

Over the course of treatment, you’ll become more desensitized to the allergen. During this time, you return to our clinic for a weekly visit to monitor progress and increase the dosage of the allergen solution.

Graduation! After 23 -29 weeks, you will graduate from the OIT program. Upon completing our program, you will achieve “bite-proof” desensitization to your allergen, and be well on your way to a fuller, worry-free life.
